Burgundy Star magnolia has large (up to 5inch diameter) gorgeous claret red, lightly fragrant blooms which cover the tree in early spring. Exceptionally long lasting and the color is stable. The blooms cluster along the stems all leading to a very luxuriant look.

Adaptable to clay, loam or sandy soils but will grow poorly in wet or poorly drained soils.
