To plant your standard tree rose, give the pot plenty of water and then dig a hole that is 60 centimetres by 40 centimetres (or a little bit bigger than the nursery container).  With a fork, break up the soil at the hole’s base. When removing the plant from its container, especially if it is early in the season, exercise extra caution. Tap the pot’s edge with the palm of the hand while holding the rose’s stem in the other hand. As you remove the root ball, keep the soil and root ball together. In the centre of the hole, place the rose upright. Backfill the hole around the rose with the soil that was dug when the hole was first made. After that, use your foot to lightly compact the soil around the rose. Water the rose well once planted. Staking your rose standard is recommend for the first couple years, as it get established.

While many garden centers guarantee their plants, this is built into the price of the plant, which we do not do.
